CLIMA: Auction-Based Subsidies in Low- and Middle-Income Countries
We are excited to extend an invitation to participate in a pivotal expert panel discussion focused on transforming international climate finance through results-based payments. Our session will delve into the innovative mechanism of reverse auctions for subsidies, specifically targeted at achieving quantifiable climate outcomes. Climate Impact Auctions (CLIMA) promise to rapidly scale up both mitigation and adaptation strategies. It has practical applications in renewable energy, biochar production, enhanced rock weathering, and other areas.
The panel will explore the numerous benefits of this approach, including its cost-effectiveness, facilitation of access to climate financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, and ability to produce measurable outcomes.
Join us as we critically evaluate this CLIMA proposal’s potential and challenges and discuss its integration into the existing climate finance landscape to foster more effective climate action.
We look forward to your contributions to this important conversation.
