The Klimalog project organized a pitch at the Innovate4Climate conference in May 2018.

For financing climate change mitigation and the green transformation, an enormous investment gap has to be filled. Green bonds have a huge potential to facilitate the scaling-up of private sector climate finance. The green bonds market has demonstrated its promising potential by a significant increase of bond issuance volumes in recent years, yet challenges remain. The aim of this event was to review recent developments in the green bonds sphere and discuss main current challenges for scaling up mobilization of private finance and achieving a transformative impact using green bonds, including the lack of harmonized standards across countries and types of bonds.
