The International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) provides a forum for academia, government, civil society, UN agencies, and the private sector to come together to share practical solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The theme of 2019 was "Good Practice: Models, Partnerships, and Capacity Building for the SDGs."

The 2019 ICSD coincided with multiple international events that are related to sustainable development: High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development, UN 2019 Climate Summit, UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development under UNGA Auspices.

The German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE), through its Managing Global Governance (MGG) Programme supported the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) by organizing the
