The aims of the Sustainable Development Network (SDN) are (1) to help NGOs become more sustainable through networking, resource mobilisation strategies; training in fundraising and social enterprise development. (2) to provide useful research for NGO’s, government and the private sector which will promote and encourage sustainable development. And (3), to provide education and training programmes (including assistance with creating accredited training programmes) for NGOs, government and the private sector.

Marianne Fay has held positions in different regions of the World Bank (Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa) working on infrastructure, urbanization, and more recently, adaptation to climate change. Her research has mostly focused on the role of infrastructure and urbanization in development, with a particular interest in issues related to urban poverty. She is the author of a number of articles and books on these topics. Ms Fay holds a PhD in Economics from Columbia University.
