We are moving towards a more fragmented, domestically driven climate policy architecture under the Paris Agreement, in which some actors have pledged to significantly increase their climate ambition. Has now the time arrived for a more informed debate about border carbon adjustments?
This invitation-only event offered a timely opportunity to discuss the evolving rationale of border carbon adjustments in the evolving climate regime, and to facilitate critical thinking about legal, political and economic constraints and their attendant design implications. It convened researchers, policy makers, and other stakeholders selected for their prior work and relevant experience.
