Green Economy
Um ökologische Katastrophen globalen Ausmaßes zu verhindern, müssen der Verbrauch nicht erneuerbarer Ressourcen sowie die Schadstoffemissionen binnen weniger Jahrzehnte radikal reduziert werden. Dies stellt sowohl die Finanz- als auch die Realwirtschaft vor enorme Herausforderungen. Es erfordert die Reform und Weiterentwicklung des weltwirtschaftlichen Ordnungsrahmens und den Umbau der Anreizsysteme auf nationaler Ebene.
Im Cluster „Green Economy“ forschen wir zu drei übergeordneten Fragen:
- Welche Instrumente ökologischer Strukturpolitik schaffen unter welchen Kontextbedingungen grüne und inklusive Produktions- und Nachfragedynamiken?
- Wie kann das Konsumverhalten in Industrie- und Entwicklungsländern dahingehend beeinflusst werden, dass Ressourcen geschont und Treibhausgasemissionen vermieden werden?
- Wie können globale Regelwerke in Bezug auf Finanzmärkte, Handel, Direktinvestitionen und Technologietransfer reformiert werden, um entsprechende Transformationsprozesse zu unterstützen?
Elemente, welche die Erforschung dieser Fragestellungen verbinden, sind die Berücksichtigung politökonomischer Interessen und Akteurskonstellationen sowie die Interdependenz zwischen nationalen Politiken und globalen Rahmenwerken.
