This chapter provides a brief overview of projects from different parts of the world that focused on jatropha as a biodiesel feedstock. It analyses some of the issues related to jatropha production and reviews a number of sustainability certification programs, emphasizing the  challenges faced when attempting to make biofuels sustainable both locally and globally.
