Another setback for multilateral environmental and resource protection

Progress in combating desertification has been dealt a blow, with UNCCD negotiating parties failing to reach an agreement last December. The author stresses the importance of addressing the issue of desertification and points to the challenges it is posing particularly for countries in the Global South.
