Call for bids: Expert on “Civil Society and Civic Spaces in Asia”
The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) in Bonn plans to contract an Expert on “Civil Society and Civic Spaces in Asia”.
IDOS is conducting a study that aims to generate insights based on research evidence from Cambodia to answer broad thematic research questions related to Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
Timeline and Tasks
Approx. 01 March 2025 Project Start
• Conduct literature reviews on civic society spaces in Asian countries.
• Analyse documents as provided by stakeholders.
• Synthesize the results by merging the literature review, document analysis and country reports.
Approx. 31 July 2025 Project End
Qualification of the Expert Consultant
The consultant is expected to be knowledgeable about the subjects of civil society, civic space and development cooperation, preferably with a focus on Asia. S/he will preferably hold an advanced degree in Social or Political Science or a related discipline and have several years of experience working in the field of international development cooperation, including in project management. Excellent English and basic German language skills are required for the position. Russian language skills are a very strong asset. In the case of the other relevant qualifications being equal, candidates with Russian language skills will be given preference.
