Shaping Futures Network

The Shaping Futures: African-European Network on Development and Sustainability brings together the Shaping Futures Academy's alumni from African (Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Togo, and Zambia) and European (EU+) countries, their home institutions and various cooperation partners to jointly engage in knowledge cooperation, to create partnerships, and to build a community of actors dedicated to sustainable development.

Network activities include collaborative organisation and hosting of high-level policy dialogues, joint publications and conference participation. The network members themselves drive network activities to encourage ownership and shared responsibility.

Currently, the network is headed by the Alumni Executive Committee and structured in four

regional blocs that coordinate their network activities on a regional level.

The Shaping Futures programme is implemented by the German Institute for Development and Sustainability (IDOS) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
