Press release, Bonn, 23 June 2022: Established in 1964 as the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) gGmbh, the Institute became the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) on 23 June 2022.
The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) is locate in the UN City of Bonn and is one of the world’s leading research institutions and think tanks for global sustainable development. Our work is based on the interplay between Research, Policy Advice and Training. The IDOS is building bridges between theory and practice.
In addition to more ambitious climate protection, the major industrialized countries must do more to combat the global food and debt crisis and make healthcare systems more resilient worldwide. So far, the G7 has failed to protect its citizens from digital corporations and data abuse. Moreover, there is still a lack of common standards to measure progress in social and environmental projects.
Prevention of Corruption Corruption erodes decision-making structures, encourages interest-driven behaviour beyond the institutional mandate of an institution, thus weakening the performance and quality of the products produced and damaging the reputation of each affected institution.
