Press release, Bonn, 23 June 2022: Established in 1964 as the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) gGmbh, the Institute became the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) on 23 June 2022.
DIE offers a working environment that values diversity, promotes gender equality, seeks to abolish all forms of workplace discrimination and helps to achieve a better work-life balance. These objectives are part of DIE’s staff development strategy and of our research, policy advice and training work.
The German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) is locate in the UN City of Bonn and is one of the world’s leading research institutions and think tanks for global sustainable development. Our work is based on the interplay between Research, Policy Advice and Training. The IDOS is building bridges between theory and practice.
In addition to more ambitious climate protection, the major industrialized countries must do more to combat the global food and debt crisis and make healthcare systems more resilient worldwide. So far, the G7 has failed to protect its citizens from digital corporations and data abuse. Moreover, there is still a lack of common standards to measure progress in social and environmental projects.
