Ines Dombrowsky new Head of Department at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE)

Today, Ines Dombrowsky assumes her new position as Head of the Department “Environmental Policy and Management of Natural Resources” at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) in Bonn. She succeeds Imme Scholz, who was promoted to Deputy Director last year. Ms. Dombrowsky’s fields of expertise include the new institutional economics, environmental and ecological economics, river basin management institutions, management of transboundary rivers as well as the integrated Water Resources Management.

After studying environmental engineering and philosophy in Berlin (Degree: Dipl.-Ing., equivalent to Master of Science), Ms. Dombrowsky received her doctorial degree in Economics at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg (Dr. rel. pol.). Before joining the German Development Institute Ms. Dombrowsky worked for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), the World Bank in Washington, D.C. as well as the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ in Leipzig.

Ms. Dombrowsky is a member of the International Association for the Study of the Commons, the International Society for Ecological Economics as well as the International Society for New Institutional Economics (ISNIE).
