What does it mean to design a sustainable and effective Africa policy? How can Germany develop and rethink its relations with Africa? The Megatrends Afrika team addressed these questions in a dedicated blog series: Joint Futures. Between September 2023 and February 2024, the blog served as a platform for different voices from academia, practice and civil society to share reflections, ideas and visions on German Africa policy. In interviews, analytical and opinion pieces, authors reflected from different perspectives on strategically important developments, aspects that have received little attention to date, and possible new directions and approaches. The contributions intended to provide policy-relevant impulses and concrete  recommendations for the German government as it formulates its new Africa policy guidelines. We paid particular attention to the question: How can Germany and its African partners look to the future together? This publication brings together all the contributions to the series in order to make the broad spectrum of insights and recommend-dations easily accessible. All contributions are also available on the Megatrends website https://www.megatrends-afrika.de/en/joint-futures. The team would like to thank all contributors for their great work on this series.
