‘Managing Global Governance’ (MGG) is on to the 10th round: a new group of enthusiastic young professionals from eight anchor countries (Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Pakistan and South Africa) has come together to address a broad range of ‘global governance’ issues. Representing important government institutions, research organizations and think tanks, participants will come up with their own solutions to some of the most pressing global challenges.
MGG is jointly implemented by the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ). The programme starts off with a two-month academic module, the ‘Global Governance School’ (GGS). Subsequently, participants move on to research-based practice projects at German or European host organizations.
As dialogue and mutual exchange are core elements of the MGG programme, the casual ambiance of our Welcome Café was also meant to provide an opportunity for lively networking and discussion. Apart from sharing some of the very enjoyable aspects of globalisation, the legacy of this event has been a Travel Guide which compiles alternative tourist attractions suggested by the MGG participants and our German guests.
Please do not hesitate to contact Tatjana Reiber or Johannes Blankenbach for further information.
