2024 was an eventful election year with far-reaching political outcomes that will also have global implications. The election of Donald Trump in particular raises questions about how this decision could affect the world political order.

On Wednesday, November 27, 13:00 - 14:00 CET, IDOS invites interested journalists to join us for a virtual press conference to take a look back at the 2024 elections and discuss the possible long-term consequences.

Starting with a 5-minute input each, our experts* will cover the following topics:

Welcome & Classification of the election year

Between democracy and autocracy: elections in Asia

Global significance: The election in the United States

Shift to the right in Europe: The European Parliament election

Changed power relations: elections in South Africa

The inputs are in English, but questions can be asked in both German and English.

Please register by Tuesday, November 26 by emailing presse@idos-research.de. The event will take place via Zoom. You will receive the access link via email in time before the event.

You are also welcome to forward this invitation to interested colleagues.

IDOS experts will be available for interviews before, during and after the press briefing. If you have any questions, please contact us directly.

We look forward to your participation!
