United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), IDOS, and partners.
At the Conference of the Parties to the 27th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), countries come together to take action towards achieving the world’s collective climate goals as agreed under the Paris Agreement and the Convention. Building on the outcomes and momentum of COP 26 in Glasgow last year, nations are expected to demonstrate at COP 27 that they are in a new era of implementation by turning their commitments under the Paris Agreement into action. The conference will take place from 6-18 November 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
IDOS and its partners are actively involved in the BLUE Zone and GREEN Zone programme during COP27.

The COP27 Just Transition Pavilion, funded by the European Commission and organized by the ILO, will host discussions and events to spread awareness of the social dimension of climate change ahead of the UNFCCC dialogues. On 16 November, a panel discussion will be held on social protection for a just transition at the pavilion from 13:30-14:30, providing a space to also present our working group and ensure visibility of the potential of social protection for climate action, in particular as it relates to a just transition.
