In this side-event organised by the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE), the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, VU University Amsterdam, and Ecofys, experts, policymakers and representatives of non-state and subnational climate initiatives have discussed:

  • the potential of cooperative initiatives (non-state and subnational climate initiatives) –featuring experiences and best-practices from business and civil society;the current landscape of cooperative initiatives – featuring the ‘Climate Initiatives Database’
  • Linkages between the multilateral climate regime and a groundswell climate actions – featuring a proposal for a ‘Global Framework for Climate Action’.
