Effective implementation of the prospective new climate agreement will depend on ambitious climate action around the globe. Some countries are willing and able to go further faster to raise the level of ambition in international climate policy. This authors’ workshop brought together experts from all world regions and explored the potentials of a transformative pioneers‘ alliance to complement the formal multilateral process and to build additional momentum for climate action.
