ENGAGEMENT WELTWEIT 2009 - Commitment to one world

Implementing organizations of government development cooperation (DC), multilateral institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are constantly looking for qualified specialists and managers for their projects and programs in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. The ENGAGEMENT WORLDWIDE trade fair offered those interested the opportunity to find out directly and comprehensively about the opportunities for professional engagement abroad, the various fields of work, qualification offers, young talent development programs as well as developments and trends in development cooperation. More than 50 actors from development cooperation, emergency and disaster relief as well as educational work were represented at the event with information stands. The program includes keynote speeches, specialist lectures and discussion groups. Films provided insights into the different work of governmental and non-governmental organizations and into the practical work of specialists in on-site projects. ENGAGEMENT WELTWEIT is the only trade fair in Germany on the topic of working in development cooperation. It is aimed particularly at experienced specialists and managers as well as university graduates and young professionals. The event took place for the third time after 2005 and 2007. It is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The German Institute for Development Policy (DIE) was represented with its own stand and numerous visitors took the opportunity to obtain detailed information about the postgraduate program.
