Library and Publications
Our library collects literature on the research and consulting areas of the scientific teams: Inter- and transnational cooperation, transformation of economic and social systems, environmental governance, and transformation of political (dis)order.
In cooperation with the institutes of the German Information Network for International Relations and Area Studies (dt: FIV-IBLK - Fachinformationsverbund Internationale Beziehungen und Länderkunde), the library analyses and indexes relevant national and international journals in accordance with the institute's research and consulting priorities and within the guidelines of the FIV-IBLK. The entire collection is cataloged in the World Affairs Online (WAO) database and can be retrieved via the institute's OPAC, the IREON portal and the Southwest German Library Network.
The library contains more than 19,500 volumes. Through open access transformation agreements with renowned publishers (Springer, Wiley, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, etc.) and the offer of national licenses (e.g. Sage Publications, Cambridge University Press), researchers have access to a comprehensive portfolio of relevant journals. Databases such as United Nations iLibrary and OECD iLibrary complete the range of information resources.
As a reference library, our library is open to the public. Please note our opening hours. Visitors have the opportunity to copy from books and journals (€0.05 per page) within the current copyright regulations.
